CRAP

I have had nothing to do lately and I was beginning to wonder if it is cause I suck at my job or there is just no work. About 3 weeks ago I put the pressure on the powers that be to move our DNS off a old ultra sparc the it was moved to the other day due to the demise of the motherboard in the original box. Shit it was only like a 8 year old box. Regardless I moved it to our overly complex DNS system and tested it. Worked at first. Today came go live day, to which I said "Lets wait till Monday." Of course everyone nodded in agreement. Then at 4 pm after the who is info was changed one segment of mail servers stopped responding. Yep I checked the zone and it was not loaded, CRAP, messed up again. A couple quick checks of confs and logs and a few hints from my peeps and made the necessary changes and we were rolling. That is not the point. The point is that it happened. But the problem is here everyone says "oh its OK it was fixed quick etc. etc." I feel like crap though. The worst was checking the time stamp on the zone as I reloaded it and realized that it was not working on the new system for 15 days. I had that long to fix it..... CRAP work. THE ONE THING I DO NOT EXCEPT FROM OTHERS AND DESPISE WHEN I DO IT IS CRAP WORK. I am gonna fix what has been making me loose focus tonight and try to get back up, dust my self off, and get back in the game. E./
