We woke up early and had breakfast the night before my mother had expressed her displeasure with the fact that last year the did not have a tree and said that she would aprecheate it if we made one appear. It took a little bit to get Eric and Dad rolling but in no time we were in the truck and out on the search for a tree. We went to all the places we had been the day before and they were all closed or had signs saying "SOLD OUT". I haven't lived in America for a long time but I remember never seeing a sold out sign when we went to get trees. This was a first for my Dad too usually on the day before Christmas people were giving away trees. We drove around for close to 2 hours going as far out as Hamlin and down the Hamlin beach Expressway. Finally we got off in Greece some where and Dad remembered a place where he had seen them selling trees in the past. We pulled in and sure enough they had some. Eric picked out the tree that he thought was best and we were off! I thought since we were already near the city we should stop at Patrick’s and pick up some of the things I needed for Christmas. While I was upstairs Eric and Dad got out the sled and went sledding down the hill in my yard. To my surprise Eric LOVED IT. When he was just a baby I tried to take him sledding down the same hill but he screamed the whole time. This time was much different he was screaming with delight. I was trying to tell him this was his last trip down the hill and he would say yes and agree. Then as I was walking away he would hop into the sled and go down again. Finally I promised to take him to a BIG HILL and he decided to follow me and get into the truck. After seeing how much he liked to go sledding we took Eric to Highland Park near the Highland Bowl. There was a large hill that we let him sled down. Eric started out sitting straight up but as the sled picked up speed and made its way down the hill he would lay down. He went so fast that he slid straight down the hill and across the small access road behind the bowl. He got up and charged back up the hill again I stayed at the bottom and Dad stayed at the top. Eric went about 5 times till he felt really tired. He was so happy and excited it was great. We went home and moved some things around and set up our Christmas tree. Dad and I did the lights and mom did the decorations. Eric and my Mom baked cookies. Eric really Enjoyed using the cookie cutters to make the cookies and enjoyed eating them even more. Finally Mom and Dad went to Church and Eric and I went to the China buffet to get some eats . It was pretty good. I found that there was plenty of sea food and sushi-rolls for Eric and some stuff I liked too. We finished up by ordering Aunt Mary some food to go and went home where we met up with Mary. We all ate and talked for a while and after Eric went to bed Mary helped me wrap presents. I went to bed around 11 pm. I was pretty excited to see how Eric would react to Christmas the next day.
