Last post of the year.

Last post of the year. Today Eric and I went to Tokyo Dome City and watched a super hero’s show and ride the rides. It was allot of fun and I am totally exhausted. But, there is always a but... It's New Years Eve. I think if we make it another 2 hours we will go to the temple down the street and help ring the new years bell.

Photos Received

So we got the photos from the 3 5 & 7 festival and the day of hellish photo taking. After about 3 hours of wrestling with a Windows XP in Japanese, a Epson PM-A900 in Japanese, its software that needs a cd rom (which my work laptop does not have) and a all Japanese manual. I got these scans. They are only 300 pixel pictures. But I decided to take them to a friend to have them scanned and let some one else incur the headache. Hope you like them. All of Us... I really hate this one. Eric in his kimono. Lastly in his suite

Merry Xmass

Really this is the first good one I have had in a while. This morning I woke up a little later than I had planned. Satomi was already up. I took a quick shower man was it cold and then got dressed quickly. I went upstairs to the attic and got out the presents for Eric that we had bought I put them on the couch in our room where Eric was sleeping on the bed. I was quiet and careful not to wake him. Next I went down and got THE HUGE box of presents my mom dad and Sister Mary had sent. I put those on the couch as well then made allot of noise as I removed the box from room hoping Eric would wake up and see all the presents. No such luck. He was in a deep sleep. Satomi came upstairs and we woke Eric up together. He was kind of slow to realize it what was going on but when he actually saw all the presents he jumped out of the bed and rushed across to the couch. He said "WOW ipaidat!" (There’s allot) The rest of event took less than 10 minutes as he tore through the presents. He would pick one up and ask if it was his, if it was he opened it right away. He got lots of great stuff like a remote control submarine, 2 sets of laser tag guns (one from Aunt Mary and one from the whole Hughes Family! Thanks Mom and Dad the extra set will be cool for team play!) Some Japanese learning games that he really seems to love.... and he is pretty good at. Clothes of course and some candy in his stocking with the perfect compliment to that..... A new Spiderman electric tooth brush.

Shinkansen X3

I ride Shinkansen (the Bullet Train) about once every 2 or 3 months. Ussually when I have a party or something else I would like to do in Tokyo near Shinagawa or Tokyo station and I still want to get back to see Eric. Today I am coming back from Tokyo ridding it for the 3rd time in 2 days. Friday night I was about to leave when I noticed a critical looking problem I spoke to my boss and we scheduled a Emergency Maintenance starting at midnight. The maintenance went well or at least I thought so and I finished in just under the needed time. I was pretty happy. But like always I did not check my work so good and of course there were problems because of it. I ended up spending the rest of my night working out where I had made the mistake and hoping I could fix it. Eventually I spoke to some one who pointed out where my mistake was I corrected it and then finally at 10 am the next day I was finished. I was at the data center and it is close to Tokyo station so I hopped on Shinkansen. I got home ate lunch did some shopping, and dropped Eric off at my friend Masseys house, and crashed hard for about 3 hours. I woke up went and picked up Eric. We got home about 9 or 930 ate a little and then watched tv till 11. When we went to bed we both fell asleep immediately.

SPAM what is it really all about???

I have been meaning to write this for some time, and today on Slashdot I saw this artical about the RISE OF SPAM. So I have some in site as well as questions about SPAM. What is SPAM well wikipidia defines SPAM or SPAMMING as: Spamming is the abuse of electronic messaging systems to send unsolicited, undesired bulk messages.[1] But I am not so concerned about the spam itself. SPAM is like rain in every ones life alittle must fall or make its way to your inbox. What concerns me is the content and purpose. I find 3 core types of spam. STOCKS We all by now know the pump and dump stock scam. There is a sucker born every minute and some one out there must be getting ripped by these stocks in order for them to keep doing it. SHOPPING SCAMS Ya I am sure you all know if you that you could be a B1GGER MAN! or l00se We1ght or Sati`sfy your partner all night. Mostly these are crappy written e-mails or some times images that show you how you too can be stud get a cheep Rolex. I cant believe anyone would try to buy anything from a on line store that solicits users through spam. Here is one of my favorites:

Give the WashletO a rest.

For about the 15th time in the past month I walked into the bathroom here at work and looked out the window. As I relived myself and watched people come and go on the street below. I was greeted by a all to familiar tune. Some guy in one of the stalls using the Wash-letO to clean him self for some 5 MINUTES! Give it a rest PLEASE that is what they make TP for... I know after 2000 years of pissing and crapping in holes in the ground a built in ass washer must seem like a treat. But please lets not abuse it. E./

WTF2

Ya so my situation is a little f`ed but no big deal. I just heard from a friend who's girl...... get this.... went to work one day and was looking on a public share on the server for a file her boss was supposed to send her. She opened a folder that was filled with JPEGs. She opened the JPEG and was lucky enough to see a picture of her boss engaging in intercourse with 2 women. It was never confirmed either way if at least one of them was his wife. YES You read that right not only p0rn but p0rn with her boss in it in full BAMCHIKAWACHIKAWAWAOOOYAAAAA! I personally would have treated it like my new found piggy bank. As I imagine the same situation visions of FIGHT CLUB dance in my head. "Richard Chesler: Get the fuck out of here, you're fired!" "Narrator: I have a better solution. You keep me on the payroll as an outside consultant and in exchange for my salary, my job will be never to tell people these things that I know. I don't even have to come into the office, I can do this job from home." She was not so fortunate I heard. All she got was a 1000 yen or $10.00 a day raise. Shit... But the real point is that the guy didn't get fired, and after reading my last tail of woe... that friend called me to say that Mr Amatuer Porn star had been promoted to Director of XYZ.

WTF

REALLY There are allot of things that are a little difficult to deal with about Japan and especially working for a large company in Japan but this is really to much. I work with a bunch of skilled technicians and my bosses are not bad either. From time to time we have our differences but, we all have getting the job done and running a good service as a core principles. So it is easy to chalk any problems up as WORK. But there was one guy who had some problems and he would not show up to work from time to time (I haven't personally seen him in over 5 months.) and he would also not follow thru and finish his work, even the most simplest of tasks. He was initially on my team and when I arrived he was out "sick". Around the time I finished my 3 months probation and was told I was a full time employee I saw MR. S. for the first time. Then he spent a week reading his old mail that he had from his previous absence for about a WEEK. We worked on a couple of problems together and he made things worse by freaking out all the time and telling every one things that didn't matter and when a resolution was reached forgetting to tell everyone how it was resolved. It was a nightmare working with him. I tried to keep my frustration to myself cause it is really helpful to have a native Japanese speaker on my team.

Hackergotchi_101

eredicatorx.pngSo ya I am a geek I could have would have should have gone out tonight but I didn't Instead I created Hackergotchi. 1. Take a semi-homo erotic picture of your self, or just one you feel looks evil/cool/dark/or just happy. me 2. Think of a way to enhance that image. I went for a 1/2 terminator look like Arnold. 3. find a image that suites your needs I recommend Google images. 4. Fire up the GIMP. 5. Select the area you want to add to your photo from your Google photo. TERMINATOR 6. paste that into your image. 7. The fun part (cough spit) use the transform perspective and scale tools to get you the right shape and then the airbrush and eraser tools to blend it in. [1] WORKING 8.finally resize the image to 54 X 60 and your all set! eredicatorX! [1] I didn't quite have the right angle so I spent about 30 minutes on step 7. IF I still used photoshop I belive you could cut that time in half.
